Anthropic is moving toward what could become one of the largest initial public offerings in history, with people familiar with the preparations saying the company could file as soon as the end of August. Bloomberg reports the offering is expected to match or potentially exceed the scale of SpaceX's record-setting public debut.
The timing reflects how quickly frontier AI economics have shifted. Anthropic's annualized revenue reportedly reached roughly $65 billion by the end of July, up sharply from where it stood at the close of 2025, as enterprise spending on Claude and AI agents accelerated. A mega-IPO would hand the company a fresh pool of capital for compute, data centers, and model development.
It would also put Anthropic's spending, margins, and governance under a level of public-market scrutiny frontier labs have so far avoided, and it would establish a real-world benchmark for how investors price a pure-play AI company at scale.
Broadcom is in talks with lenders to raise more than $60 billion in debt for a sprawling AI chip financing arrangement that could ultimately involve considerably more capital. Bloomberg reports the structure could combine roughly $60 to $70 billion in senior secured debt with about $30 billion in junior financing, pushing the total package toward $100 billion.
The money would support AI infrastructure tied to Anthropic and potentially other major AI companies, as hyperscalers lean on custom accelerators to complement or reduce their dependence on Nvidia GPUs. Broadcom previously worked with Blackstone and Apollo on financing tied to Anthropic's compute buildout, part of a pattern of chipmakers and private credit firms building special-purpose structures around expected future demand rather than parking the risk on any single balance sheet.
Nevada regulators have approved permits that could allow Tesla to deploy as many as 5,000 robotaxis in the Las Vegas area over the next year. Waymo and Uber were each authorized for fleets of up to 1,000 vehicles, a gap that gives Tesla considerably more room to expand than its rivals.
Tesla has positioned robotaxis as central to its future valuation, but the company still faces open questions about safety performance, regulatory compliance, and how fast its autonomy stack can scale without human supervision. Nvidia has reportedly struck an extraordinary arrangement with AI coding startup Poolside that combines technology licensing, investment, and talent recruitment without a formal acquisition. Newcomer reports Nvidia will pay $6 billion under a non-exclusive licensing agreement and invest another $1 billion in Poolside at a $12 billion pre-money valuation, while around 109 Poolside employees receive job offers from Nvidia.
The structure reflects a growing pattern among cash-rich technology companies: license the technology, hire a large share of the team, and leave the original entity operating independently, capturing access to models and engineers while sidestepping some of the friction of a conventional acquisition.
Google DeepMind says its Gemma family of open AI models has passed one billion downloads, with developers publishing more than 100,000 variants and fine-tuned versions since the family debuted roughly two years ago. Google is also launching an "Awesome Gemma" GitHub repository to organize notable applications, tools, and community projects built around the models.
Gemma models can run on cloud servers, laptops, edge devices, and research systems, letting developers customize AI without routing every query through a large commercial API.
